As previously reported, Trumbull couple Tess and Mark Szamatulski opened the brewery and tap room next to their beer and wine-making supply store Maltose Express last year.

In addition to fourteen different beers on tap, Veracious serves eight wines by the glass and cold brewed coffee on nitrogen.

Signature brews include the 29 Pews IPA, Oddy Satisfying summer IPA and Lucy's Last Call, a Belgian strong golden ale named after the Szamatulski's golden retriever Lucy, who died late last year.

Visitors can also bring their own food and well-behaved children. Local restaurants will also deliver to Veracious.

The tasting room is open on Thursdays from 3 to 9 p.m., Fridays from noon to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The brewery and tap room are available to rent all other days.

Their beers can also be found on tap at area restaurants such as Vazzys Oesteria in Monroe, Osteria Romano in Monroe, The Tavern in Monroe, Coal House Pizza in Stamford, Romanacci Pizza Bar in Trumbull, The Olive Garden in North Haven, Tap and Vine in Wallingford. Bluefish Stadium in Bridgeport features five of their beers on tap.

Beer Advocate Magazine named them one of the top 33 new breweries in the U.S. in January.
